Peter and Ellen Allard have recorded 27 short early childhood songs. The project starts with two "hello" songs before moving into fingerplay-type songs for the very young. Veteran storytime presenters will recognize a lot of staples such as "Five Brown Buns," "Popcorn Chant," "Five Green Apples," and "Five Plump Peas." There are several lesser-known, but effective musical rhymes such as "Wake Up, You Sleepy Heads," "Andy Pandy," and the wonderful "Oliver Twist," which features clever sound effects to go with the movement activities. There are also some Allard originals such as "Skip-a-Doodle." The production quality has a simple, home-made sound to it.

The teachers guide contains scores and some clever follow-up activities. The lyrics are also printed on the CD cover. There is a wealth of story program material collected here, so librarians and teachers might want to consider purchasing this recording.
