Showers In The Rain
words & music by Peter Allard ©1992 Peter Allard from Raise the Children, #PEA1CD www.peterandellen.com My mom likes me clean, do ya' know what I mean? And if you're like me, that means bath time Well, I've found a way that can rescue the day A better way of washing the dirt and grime. Chorus: I take my showers in the rain, I do my washing in the downpour. Just a bar of soap and me And a towel at the backdoor. You know the first thing I do, is I grab some shampoo And I find me a place beneath the downspout. The next thing you know, I'm all covered with soap And I dance a little jig to clean my ears out. Chorus You know the really best part is that I've got the whole yard To run around in, much better than a small tub Among the bushes and trees, shower wherever I please And there's no cleanup to take care of when I'm all done. Chorus Now my mom thinks it's great, says that she can relate She did the same thing when she was just a young girl Through the rain she would run for some good clean fun And the feeling she'd helped create a clean world. Now we both shower in the rain We do our washing in the downpour Just a bar of soap and we, And two towels at the backdoor. Yes we both shower in the rain We do our washing in the downpour Just a bar of soap and we, And two towels at the backdoor. |
