While taking a walk through the woods one day
Thought I'd stop for awhile, hear what the world had to say
So I sat on a wall and I listened real well
To get some wisdom the world had to tell
So I listened.

I heard me the wind as it blew through the trees
A shhh sort of sound that you get from a breeze
Well, I sat and I sat just as long as you please
And I learned what that wise wind had to teach me.
It said to listen SHHHH, just listen SHHHH.
Just listen SHHH, just listen SHHH.

Later that day along the ocean shore
I decided to sit and to listen some more
On the rocks of the jetty where the ocean spray
Oh, I listened real well to what the ocean had to say
I listened.
It seems sort of crazy but I'd heard it before
That same sort of SHHH in the surf's mighty roar
As the waves rushed to meet me while I sat on that rock
The ocean gave me a message and it didn't need to talk
It said listen SHHHH, just listen SHHHH
Just listen SHHH, just listen SHHH.

When I crawled into bed on that very same night
Oh my house was so quiet as I turned out the light
Slid under the covers and I pulled up the sheets
Just imagine my delight at the sound I did meet
I heard SHHH.

Well, the moral of the story isn't very profound
In fact the moral of the story is a simple SHHH sound
You can talk about that, you can talk about this
But when the world's got a message that you don't want to miss
Just listen SHHH, just listen SHHH
Just listen SHHH, just listen SHHH.
It don't mean a thing if you ain't listening.
