What People Are Saying...

About our Artist-in-Residence visits:

"Your music and ruach lifted us all up to a higher spiritual plane. The high point for me was when we all led the hakafa to your "Hakafa" song, including the children. They loved it and I intend to incorporate it into our regular Family Shabat service. We can teach no better lesson than that G-d is all around us. May G-d continue to bless you with soul-filled creativity thereby blessing us all. Todah Rabah!"

"Peter and Ellen spent a weekend in Kansas City performing and conducting a teacher workshop, with about 800 people enjoying them in 3 different settings. They were truly outstanding! Not only are they outstanding entertainers and performers, they are also very knowledgeable Early Childhood Educators, the perfect teacher's teacher! Your community would be extremely fortunate to have Peter and Ellen visit you!"
-Judy Jacks Berman, Early Childhood Director

"We want to say "toda rabah- thank you very much" for sharing your wonderful musical talents and energy with us. The Saturday night "Havdalah Happenings" concert and the Sunday morning Religious school program were extremely well received. The fact that the kids on Sunday morning asked you to play a song again, so they could sing it through a second time, speaks to your ability to connect with your audience through your music."
                                -David Lamden, Religious School Director

"Thank you for delighting our children (and parents and teachers, too!) with your music, your ruach, and your great warmth. Saturday evening with our youngest children was magical; and Sunday morning, you taught our K-3 students as you involved them in your music. We also very much appreciate your bringing our Youth Choir into your program- we look forward to your return to us!"
                                        -Miriam Rubin, Education Director

"Thank you for a wonderful weekend! The Saturday evening show was a delight for everyone including the young children, parents and grand parents. The lively songs and movements kept everyone laughing and singing along. We all felt good! The highlight of our weekend with you was the teacher workshop. In a very creative and non-threatening way, you led the teachers through a process of looking at ourselves as part of something larger and more important than our individual interests and concerns. You helped our entire staff feel closer to one another and I believe you motivated everyone of us to work a little harder to help each other. The response of the teachers was unanimously positive, something that is rare for us."
                                        -Gail Simon, Director of Education

"As a long time Jewish educator and programmer, I can recommend Peter & Ellen without reservations. Our Allard weekend for families with young children delivered everything it promised and much more. Young families welcomed Shabbat together in the sanctuary with a rocking Kabbalat Shabbat service. Dancing and hand motions helped us move with the spirit of some traditional songs and Allard specials such as Building a Better World. Saturday's service was filled with warm encircling songs of joy. And Sunday's wonderful concert capped off the whole event. Audience members included Beth El families and many visitors from the Greater DC area. Peter & Ellen were a joy to work with, everyone in our congregation wants to know when they will be back!"
-Sarah Leventhal Roark, Director of Family Education

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the amazing Shabbos program Friday night. Wowee! My family and I had a phenomenal Shabbat: one of the best ever at Beth Am....they were so amazing...using song, movement, instruments and blended auditory, visual and movement as a vehicle for expression! I was so thrilled when I saw good appropriate usage of ASL (American Sign Language) in one of their songs and responded with more...they caught it and immediately invited me to come up and lead the song. What a moment! I had so much fun being part of the program...and then I got A LOT of wonderful feedback from friends and I even made some new friends from congregants I didn't know before. Friday night brought me to a new experience in our temple and I thank you for the opportunity to have it. What a wonderful way to begin Shabbos."
